Odds are good you’ve never heard of Zoe Communications Group. And there’s a good reason. It’s the “parent” company of three businesses you may be more familiar with:
- Zoe Marketing & Communications (an agency — you’re on its website)
- Chicago Parent (a media company in Chicago)
- Metro Parent (a media company in metro Detroit)
Think of ZCG as the glue that binds them all together. It looks a bit like an onion:

1. Chicago Parent and Metro Parent
These two regional media companies have been supporting local parents since 1984 and 1986, respectively — and connecting them with local businesses.
- Audience goal: Informing and inspiring local parents about the best local things to do, resources and more
- Client goal: Connecting local businesses with an engaged audience through basic marketing services
2. Zoe Marketing & Communications
Zoe Marketing & Communications is a digital marketing agency that grew out of Chicago Parent and Metro Parent in 2020.
ZMC offers more extensive marketing services to clients in Chicago and metro Detroit — it has deep roots in these cities — plus anywhere in the country.
- Mission: We create marketing solutions that empower businesses to connect with clients, grow and thrive.
- Vision: To create sustainable growth for every business.
Some businesses start with Chicago Parent and Metro Parent and “move over” to ZMC. Others begin with ZMC out the gate. It all depends on your goals and budget.
3. Zoe Communications Group
Last but not least — and, again, not very visible — is Zoe Communications Group, the umbrella that covers Zoe Marketing & Communications, Chicago Parent and Metro Parent.
It’s more of an “internal” company. All the folks you work with at the three main companies are part of ZCG. But you’ll never “work with” ZCG directly.
