Foraged Centerpiece
Hunt Down Materials for a Seasonal (and Free!) Table Topper
Look around you. Maybe you’ve decorated already! Or maybe you’ve managed to bring the boxes up from the basement, which will now stare at you for two weeks making you feel sadder than a resident of the Island of Misfit Toys. Either way, we have an easy way to bring some holiday spirit to your table! And a free one at that.
Head outside with your kiddos and go for a holiday nature walk. Look up, look down, look all around. There are things to be foraged on any neighborhood street. Or get fancy and hit a nearby park or family nature center.
Only finding the dry and dead looking? Don’t fret, nature pre-dried those for you! Woot! Found some cool, red, seasonal-looking berries? Score! (Just don’t eat!) Gather up all your goodies, bring them home and lay them out to take stock of what you have. From there, pick a favorite vase or jar, cut foraged items and display.
Hot tip: Consider giving your little ones their own jar or vase. That way you can make your cool, Pinterest-mom version and they can … express their own creativity in their OWN vase. Wink.
