Oh Come All Ye Brave-ful
Go caroling!
Let’s all come clean here. That one time your high school choir teacher forced you all out into the cold to go caroling was secretly the most fun holiday thing you’ve ever done. Even though you might have acted like the biggest teenage Eeyore of all time when she originally suggested it.
We know a lot of time has gone by since then but that’s the beauty of having children, are we right? To revisit all the things you were too cool for when you were a child. And to do it with all the gusto of a grown-up person who now knows life is too short to try and be cool all the time.
So tonight head out into the cold and sing the world some songs! Some hot tips from our staff though? Bundle up nice and warm and definitely make sure it’s not too late. Our creative director learned this the hard way one year, when she and her whole family very clearly woke up a sleeping baby and created one sad holiday dad.
Or, if singing to strangers is too weird? Call ahead to some friends, family or neighbors and let them know that you’re coming and when they might expect to enjoy your vocal stylings at their door. But shhh, don’t let them tell their kids! Let that remain a Christmas surprise.
And if this whole thing truly sounds like holiday torture to you? Then do a digital version! Have your whole family come together, record a holiday classic on your cellphone and send it on to your adoring relatives! Aunt Eunice will think you’re the most technologically advanced as well as the most adorable family she has ever known. And she’ll be right.
