Commit a Random Act of Kindness
Do a nice thing for a neighbor
Have you ever actually asked a neighbor to borrow a cup of sugar? OK maybe you have, maybe you haven’t.
Maybe you have one of those neighborhoods where every family has known each other for decades and would not hesitate (and in fact rush) to help each other with things like yard work. And it seems a (blessed) relic of a time gone by ... in the best way ever. But whether you know your neighbors lots or know your neighbors not, there’s always someone who needs something.
Look around. Is there an elderly neighbor that could use their walk shoveled? Do it. Is there an overwhelmed parent who would just love a casserole so they didn’t have to decide what dinner was for the one million, three hundred and thirty third time? Serve it up! Know a couple (well enough) who could desperately use a date night? You know you’ve heard them bickering during yard work time 😬. Call ‘em up and offer a night out, babysitting services free of charge!
So make yourself feel good, make someone else feel good and you just might make a next-door-morning-porch-coffee friend in the process. Or even (gasp!) a night wine friend!
