Shop for a local child in need this Christmas
Man, Dec. 1. Can you believe it? I feel like two weeks ago I was just desperately trying to unglue sand that seemed to be eternally stuck to my child's bathing suit. But here we are! Day One of December and the first day of your new life as a super-excited-for-all-things-holiday parent! Since it's Day One, let's just dip our toes in the winter waters with an easy one.
Are you going shopping today already? Do you need someone to tell you to? Then great, we'll be that person! Because The Salvation Army is running its Angle Tree program again this year!
What even is that you ask? Well, here's the scoop. Visit your local (participating) Walmart and look for The Salvation Army Angel Trees. Once you find one, grab a tag! That tag features both a child's name and their wish list. Then shop away! Find the things on your chosen child's list, between all the regular oatmeal and bananas purchases you need to make. Then when you're done, purchase your gifts and drop them in the storefront bin! Walmart and The Salvation Army will take it from there and make sure your holiday goodies are distributed to the right child in time for Christmas.
So for today, that's it! Shopping and do-gooding for Day One! Yay you!
